Bill has been a licensed ham since 1960 as a Novice and now holds a Advanced class license. He has been involved over the years with many different aspects of the hobby like ATV, Field Day operation, & Balloon Chasing just to name a few. Bill is the guy that designed & constructed the first ham radio auto-patch in Indianapolis back in the early 70's. It was a split-site system that was located right down in the center of Indianapolis. Although his interest in ham radio has changed over the years, he has always been very involved in the technical aspects of the hobby as well as the involvement that ham radio can provide for many organization like the Red Cross, ARES, RACES, and many more. Bill has donated many hours of his time supplying man power, and junk (as Bill likes to call it !) to help in the installation, construction and set-up of communication centers for these organizations over the years. Bill is one of the key individuals when it comes to the design, construction, and maintenance of the I.C.E. repeaters and the set-up of the VHF contest site. Bill has been married for over 32 years to Linda (KA9ZYC) is presently employed at Integrator.com after taking a early retirement from Indiana Bell after 29 years of service. He can quite often be heard on our repeaters as he is out on the road running around the state with his current job.
