Frank Swindler Jr.
Frank was first licensed in the early 1970's and holds a General class license and is the real two-way radio guy of the group. Because of his interest in ham radio as a hobby he has been in the commercial two-way radio business since getting out of collage. He started his college career at Purdue and later changed to ITT technical Institute and gradated in the top of his class with an Associate degree in EET. While attending school he worked at a small electronics company in Carmel called TRI-L Electronics owned by Jerry Lowe (WA9DMM) they designed and manufactured equipment that mixed audio to put sound on 16mm film, the equipment they built for the TV Networks attended President Nixon on his China Tour. Later Frank worked at Communication Maintenance Inc. in the early 70ís (the local Motorola repair facility or MSS) specializing in mobile phone trouble shooting and repair. He attended and graduated from many Motorola training schools, such as Apcor Medical equipment, PAC RT Systems, IMTS phone systems and Rf system and design. He later moved to a Regency Electronics Inc. owned company called D&D Communications Inc. (Regency Electronics approach to a company owned 2-Way dealership). They maintained for several years the communications system for the Marion County Sheriff Department, this included VHF mobiles, portables and in car repeater systems called PAC RT Systems. Regency electronics decided to shut down the operation several years later and Frank transferred to Regencyís engineering department where he worked on the team that developed the Front Panel Programmable VHF and Uhf Commercial 2-way radios. He then in 1980 moved to a new company in the 2-way industry called Force Communications that was a part of the Uniden Corporation later called the Uniden Commercial Communications Division were he was the National Service Manager for six years. At the same time he and his wife Leslie started their own company Communication Servicing which is were he puts in his time today. Specializing in Communication Systems designs, Community and Trunking Repeater Service. He later moved to the engineering section of Uniden as a Product support engineer. While at Uniden he trained Dealer thru many seminars across the country in the aspects of Radio Communications and LTR Trunking setup and design. Frank specializes in the how can we do that design of Communication Systems. He loves a challenge and someone to say you canít do that. Married for 29 years with two children both Graduatess of Indiana University. He is a proud parent. His son then earned his Masters Degree and in now in his 2nd year of Medical School at Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, IL. His elder daughter is 2005 Cum Laude Graduate of Thomas Cooley School of Law in Lansing, MI. Frank is an avid COLTS fan so donít bother him on Sundayís during the NFL football season.
